LL's Supported Living Journey

Support Worker Testimonial

"When they first joined our service, they faced significant challenges. Due to anxiety and sensory sensitivities, they hadn't left their home in years. Everyday tasks like going outside or visiting a shop, felt overwhelming. Our dedicated support team worked patiently at their pace, starting with small goals such as opening the front door and short walks to the post-box. Over time, with encouragement and trust, their confidence grew. A turning point came when they visited Lyme Regis, something they'd once mentioned as a cherished memory. With careful planning, they enjoyed fish and chips on the beach, marking a major step forward. Since then, they've moved into a new home and gained greater independence with a mobility car. We're incredibly proud of them and their support team. Their journey shows the power of consistent, person-centred care and belief in someone's potential."

LL's journey with our Supported Living services showcases a significant boost in self-confidence and life skills:

  • Independent meal preparation
  • Independent personal care
  • Utilising transport to access new places

Elz's Journey at The Winking Frog

Elz's photo

Learner Testimonial

"I started out as a learner in the Winking Frog cafe in 2016 where I learnt new skills such as serving customers, using the coffee machine and cooking. In 2019 I applied for a vacancy at the Winking Frog and gained paid employment in the cafe, where my confidence has grown massively. I love working in the Winking Frog with the learners. My favourite things to do in the Frog is greeting the customers, cooking the food and just making sure everyone is happy. I have developed lots of skills and gone from being a very shy person, to a more outgoing and confident person that's very happy."

Elz's journey at The Winking Frog highlights the real-world skills our learners develop in our work environments, she has since been employed at the Winking Frog as a paid member of staff. During her time at the Winking Frog, Elz has built confidence in:
